Sébastien Chabal is at the Grevin

He has played rugby since he was 16. In 1998, Sébastien CHABAL began to play for the CS Bourgoin-Jallieu club, as a flanker. In 2004, he joined the Manchester Sale Sharks where he spent five years and became very well known in the U.K. He quickly made his way up to the highest levels on the French and European rugby scene and to French national selection. In 2009, he joined the French club Racing Metro 92, where he is more famous than ever.

Over ten years, he has won the highest trophies, the English Premiership, two Six Nations Championships including one Grand Slam, a European Challenge and twice a fourth place in the Rugby World Cup.

Sébastien CHABAL's uncommon combination of toughness and charm attracts a wide audience, both male and female! At the time of the 2007 Rugby World Cup, "Chabalmania" reached unprecedented heights. His ferocious tackling is renowned, but beneath the powerful build, there is a powerful sense of humour and a dose of diffidence.

He was elected to join the Grévin in March 2010 by the Académie Grévin, chaired by Bernard Pivot. The Grévin's sculptor, Eric Saint CHAFFRAY, and the Museum's workshops produced a perfect wax image in a little over six months. Sébastien CHABAL went in person on several occasions to the workshops tucked away in the Grévin's attics to see how they were getting on. He was surprised and amused by the first session which included photographs, videos, 3D imaging and measurements of face and body.

Nothing was left to chance and Sébastien Chabal's characteristic full beard and distinctive hairstyle were meticulously reproduced. Such attention to detail enables the Grévin's artists to create truer than life likeness.

Since February the 18th, all Sébastien CHABAL's fans can have their picture taken next to their hero.

His figure is not far from Tony PARKER, in the scene featuring all the other sportsmen.
