Nicolas CAGE was warmly welcomed by Béatrice de Reyniès, the Grévin’s President. He was pleased and excited to discover his wax twin, which he greatly admired.  He was much amused as he circled around his likeness, pretending to give it a scare.  He remembered visiting the Museum when he was 19 and dreaming that he might one day be one of its stars.  He thanked the Grévin for making his wish come true and added that being in this most Parisian of historical sites was a great honour.  He congratulated the sculptor, Eric Saint Chaffray, and the artistic teams for the excellence of their work.

On the occasion of a visit to Paris for the promotion of his film Drive Angry, Nicolas CAGE discovered the Grévin together with his family on February 19, 2011.  The very next day, the actor agreed to have the Grévin sculptor, Eric Saint Chaffray, and the Grévin’s technical team come to see him at the Hotel Royal Monceau to take photographs, videos, 3D imagery, measurements of face and body and a cast of his hands.  All this attention to detail plus six months’ work enabled the artists to produce an uncanny likeness of the star, a truer-than-life wax twin.

Nicolas CAGE contributed items from his personal wardrobe to clothe his effigy: a blue shirt, jeans and boots.  He joined his film world associates already in the Grévin, George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

The actor was quick to achieve stardom after performing in key parts.  He alternated between offbeat films — Wild at Heart (1990), Leaving Las Vegas (1995), for which he won a Best Actor Oscar award — and highly successful mainstream action films such as The Rock, Con Air and Face/Off in the 90s.

He displayed a dark side to his talent with Snake Eyes (1998) and 8MM (1999), but also a more sentimental note, in particular in City of Angels (1998), The Family Man (2000) and Captain Corelli’s Mandolin (2001).

In 2004, he became an adventurer in National Treasure before turning arms dealer in Lord of War (2005).  In 2010, he portrayed a master sorcerer in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, but then moved on to witch hunting in Season of the Witch.  In Drive Angry (2011), he plays an escapee from hell.

Nicolas CAGE is now starring in a thriller, Seeking Justice, first shown in France on January 4, 2012.  He will star in Ghost Rider on February 15, 2012. In Trespass, to appear in France in 2012, he partners Nicole Kidman.
