The Little Prince is due to appear on the Planet Grévin

“Quickly send me word that he has come back…”, the last line of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince

The Little Prince is due to appear on the Planet Grévin

Ambassador of dreams, candid and wise, vulnerable and immortal...The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s 20th century creation was to become an internationally acclaimed hero.

Ever since 1882, the Grévin has been the stuff of dreams for young and old alike. Putting stars in everyone’s eyes is just what Antoine de Saint-Exupéry would want us to do, setting the stage for illusion to merge with reality...

The pure and poetic story of The Little Prince was first published in New York in 1943.  It has since been translated into 257 languages and dialects.  134 million copies of the original work were sold.

The visionary author wrote of themes which are of concern in today’s society: how we relate to time, consideration for others, protecting the environment and the interplay between the world of adults and the world of children.  Intended as a book for children, but much read by their parents, this masterpiece of the French language has travelled the world over and been central to a multitude of projects, year after year, for the greater happiness of mankind.

The Little Prince animated series, initiated by Olivier d’Agay, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s grand-nephew, produced by Method Animation and shown in Ludo on the France 3 TV network, is a free and exuberant, but faithful, sequel to the novella.  These original adventures transport their youthful spectators from planet to planet on a voyage of discovery of enchanted worlds visited by The Little Prince.

As he wanders in the company of his loyal friend the Fox, our hero uses his imagination to draw and give life to objects and magical creatures, not forgetting to write to his Rose, still on planet B612.

Children are enthralled by the spellbinding adventures of the little hero and learn to appreciate the values he upholds.

Sculpted specially for the Grévin by Stéphane BARRET,based on the animated series character, with the contribution of 3D imagery by the authors of the cartoon, The Little Prince will be displayed with his friend the Fox and his Rose as the centrepiece of a unique decor representing a planet.

As of Thursday December 15th, children and their parents can pose for an unforgettable photo of themselves on the planet together with The Little Prince, the Fox and the Rose.

The Little Prince will be joining the 250 celebrities in the Grévin, including those who arrived in 2011: Sébastien CHABAL, Cecilia BARTOLI, Brad PITT and Sébastien LOEB.  In 2012, the Grévin will celebrate its 130th anniversary and welcome Nicolas CAGE, Lambert WILSON, Nolwenn LEROY and Teddy RINER.

On the famous Paris Grands Boulevards, the Grévin, a private company created in 1882, is visited by some 800,000 people every year.
